Stone floor tiles? anyone tried?

seen a few threads on keeping piggies cool..
I saw in homebase the other day they had an offer on floor tiles.. I have these in my house and get freezing! lol.. has anyone tried these in hutches? would they work? to cool the piggies down a bit in hot weather? or granite? xx

Yes floor tiles can be good and piggies stretch out on them in the summer!

I just put small bottles of water in the freezer and wrap them in a towel an put into hutches/cages/runs

Thats what i had wanted to do, but I cant get my big american fridge freezer round to this house, so stuck with a tiny one, barely big enough to fit our food in

Ive made some ice cubes, which i was going to pop in some bottles of water.. suppose its the next best thing x

i'd make sure that if you decide to use a lot that the pigs don't find them too slippery to walk on
i've found that when my pigs walk on kitchen floors they struggle to get going properly, and they might find it uncomfortable!

i never thought of that!
Thanks.. I was going to do the whole bottom, but then put the hay etc on top, i have a spare one from my kitchen, will try that first. x

also... if the tiles are there for a while then they will simply warm up to the hutch temprature would they not? I'd say one or two left in a cool place and then switched in and out of the cage.

Thats what my bf thought too..
Its just its been so hot these past few days, and I couldnt think of a way to keep them cool x
