Squeaky wheek morning to you all,

So the storm started at 5.30pm this morning and the wind is picking up with it the amber warning in force in some parts of the country, so for all outdoor piggies, batten down the hatches. Use your covers, secure the with heavy objects and ensure there is nothing that could dislodge and hit your sheds and hutches. Don't forget the wind can also bring down the temperature within those enclosures. Since there is a chance of loss of power also ensure any battery operated appliances are fully charged too. It probably won't be that bad, but preparation is also the key in these circumstances.

Right I'm off to secure my furries.
Be safe everyone x

I hope everyone in the UK is ok today.
After several days of pouring rain/sleet, we finally have sunshine!
So happy to see some blue sky I might even open a window or two (for a few seconds anyway).

It's horrible here :( So glad my guys are tucked up warm and safe.

It is dreadful here, too. Mine are indoors but are clearly aware of the storm. All very subdued and tucked up in their houses. The noise is terrible and the lights keep flickering.....

hope everyone and their lil ones are doing ok. Thankfully my piggies are inside, shed is very weak. Worried structures in my garden will fall and canoe is halfway across garden. People in north are being told to avoid going out or in a car, not sure how bad it is there.

I am hoping we are only on the edge of it as we are down south, it is very windy though, I could feel my car being buffeted as I sat in the work car park this morning. Not looking forward to the drive home. Pigs are safe indoors. Likely to have no water in the loo though as we are high up in our block and it always disappears when it is windy outside. Hope everyone further north is ok.

Take care everyone. It's been okay here, other than the wind.

We have a board meeting later and chair arrived late. He was travelling by train, and the train had to stop because a shed blew onto the rails. The driver had to get permission to get out an move it!

Woah! Hope everything's ok still. Trampoline across the road smashed a light and nearly went over the fence into our driveway and a fence went down etc. Anyone know how to keep a canoe down? It keeps flighng across the yard and nothing's stopping it, like heavy objects.

Getting blown all over the motorway, dealt with a crash when I started at 2, its now snowing!

Hope everyone is staying safe! It's been mainly okay north of the border today - for a change! Very snowy on the way to work which meant I had to drive 30mph or less the whole way to avoid skidding (most of it is 60mph roads) :td: it's all melted now though.

So glad I've moved my piggies indoors. My buns are fine but came home from work to find my chicken coop smashed to bits, 4 smashed fence panels, and the felt ripped of the shed roof, expensive day! Good luck everyone.

Ive had a power cut for two hours, the winds are 60 miles an hour, trees and fences are down, ive bought all my piggies inside !
Glad u bought them in, even just the noise of the wind must be terrifying when your that small!

Off to another crash, motorway is shut completely!

crikey.... Nottingham wasn't too bad.... quite a bit of rain and some windy wind..... and my peg basket got blown all around the garden - think i got off lucky compared to some ! pegs are still out there too......

All how street was cover in red bins, yellow bags ! All over the roads ! , so I guess everyone will be writing to the council for new bins now !

i'm in North Yorkshire it hasn't really hit us.
I have some piggies outside but in a brick out house and the others are inside and would be oblivious if there were a storm x x

mine are in hutches in a shed, its a sturdy shed, but i do not want to risk it.ive portable pop up cages for temporary measures,.
Hutches in a shed is cool, at my last house I did that, amazing how it keeps the elements out

My hutches are actually built into the shed so its sturdy as anything, the roof has extra securing brackets and wooden braces so it's going nowhere, even in the strongest winds, I've also bolted the shed to the concrete base with a dozen rawl bolts. ;)

Been bad here in East of England, we've had no power today for 5 hours, then I saw a car crushed by a tree on the way home as the road was partially closed & then I've been syringe feeding my piggy tonight & there was a power cut in the middle of feeding ! :( Horrendous ! Luckily I had my hand on her all the time & managed to fumble around & get her back in her enclosure.

I've just spent four hours on a closure following a serious injury car crash. Now heading back to the station to knock off. I should have finished 90 minutes ago. Should get away for midnight. ;)

Wasn't too bad for me, but absolutely freezing. I can't complain about the wind, since we didn't have it nearly as badly, but we were forced into benchball at school, outside, so everyone was being blown off the benches while the wind blew the netballs everywhere. Fun. I think I've now caught a cold. Also couldn't see where I was walking (long hair problems with wind) and my kilt kept flying open (my lovely uniform). My teachers are cruel and left the windows open to the classroom so I froze to death.

Lucky piggies have been snuggled up all day in the lounge with hay and veggies. Poor Larry-Jasper (hamster) isn't allowed in the lounge :( and has to stay in the kitchen.

Mine are indoor piggies, so were perfectly unaware. I on the other hand was stuck in London for hours.

It wasn't that bad here, not much rain just wind. Doris rearranged my garden furniture and threw some plant pots around but in the piggy garden she hadn't even moved the bag of plastic recycling which confirms to me how sheltered that area is (not that anyones in the hutch atm as Daisy is indoors with me so I can make sure she doesn't get depressed and stop eating). Looks to have disappeared today.
