I was never really sure if Petal and Lily were happy together. After losing my girls Fudge and Rainbow on the same night on 2nd Decmber, it left poor baby Petal by herself. So I rehomed Lily to live with her, they've never fought but they occasionally ran away from each other which was odd. I was beginning to think Lily (the bigger girl) was bullying Petal but soon decided otherwise when I saw both girls following each other and chattering in their funny language! :))

However, recently after watching my girls, I'm not sure whether they like each other. :( They sleep in separate areas of the hutch. I added a new "level" in the hutch, an upside down box which they can climb on to but also go inside. Petal usually sleeps in the box and Lily is in the bedroom area. When I put them together, they follow each other but the piggy in front squeaks everytime the pig behind touches her with her nose. It's really weird. :{ It's like they're scared of each other... they aren't biting each other or anything like that, juyst running away. They've been together 10 months though! You probably won't know the answer but what do you think is going on?!

Don't know how much help i can offer. But our 2 girls sleep seperately from each other. when our girls are in 'season' Cookie runs behind Treacle trying to sniff her bum, as soon as Cookie's nose touches Treac's bum treacle jumps. This behaviour normally only lasts a day. It may be the nose to bum thing is a season thing....

My 2 are exactly the same. I had one house which they both fought over. I now have 2 houses which they share and spend night about in each of the houses. They bicker and chase each other yet if I take one of them out of the cage, the other starts wheeking to see what I'm doing! Strange pair of ! The boys on the other hand, never fight and get on like a house on fire!

Guinea pigs hate having their bums touched. This is how they always react. My girls rarely sleep next to each other and they are close. I think your two sound like they get along well. You should not worry. :)

Nothing to worry about!

The "bum squeaking" is simply protest (mine do that all the time). There are days when you think they are having a griping contest!

It is perfectly normal for piggies to sleep alone. In my cage I have areas where my piggies can snuggle up if they wish to, but usually they prettly much prefer to sleep alone in their favourite snugs and crannies.

Piggy relationships are like humans - some will forever sit together and not do anything on their own and other live happily alongside each other, doing their stuff. Your girls are no less happy or well bonded, they just have a different relationship to Fudge and Rainbow.

Mine rarely sleep together...they have 'their' places and thats it....dare anyone sleep in their spot when they are in it! Sometimes they may sleep head to head but thats rare and more by accident I think!

Mine make all sorts of noises, chase, run around, run circuits with each other and do the same as yours re the bum, sniffing. Sounds like normal day to day behaviour so nothing to worry about. enjoy watching, they provide hours of entertainment don't they?! :))
