Brief back story, we got 2 rescue boars in march 2014. They were 1 year old and were meant to be a bonded pair (they came from a heard of 6 boars and were paired off - although one died). When we got them jet was underweight quite badly it transpired that dozy was bullying him which turned quickly into all out attacks (yet jet displays the dominant behaviour) we separated them into a c&c cage -so only divided by grids so they could sniff and talk to each other and since they have had floor time but no other mixing, if they have ever mixed in the cage they have been aggressive.
But recently they seemed to be pining for each other so we took the base of the ferplast cage that we have in case one is poorly, popped hay in it and put them in. They cuddled up together.
While they did that I cleaned the cage and put new fleece in it. When I returned them I left the barrier open and they pottered around so I watched them and let them carry on. The next day they were back at the bars looking at each other so I opened it up and the ambled round did a little rumble strut and them went to sleep next to each other. I watched them all day and there was nothing bad so since I've left the barrier open.
They have pottered and eaten and slept like normal, done ear nudges and nibbles and got on.
Do you think one of them is poorly? They both seem to need to sleep close (not together but one in the bed one in the hay right beside). Are they ok?
