I have just come home from work and Saffy is making a strange noise, between a squeak and a wheeze. She is eating , trotting round the living room. The only thing different this week is I have changed the flooring in their cage to vet bed and I was wondering should I have washed it before use? She is booked in at the vets at 5.10 but wondered if anybody had any thoughts? Thank you. ( sods law-we are going away this weekend) . Thought it was coming from her nose but when I put an ear to her side it sounds like its coming from there?

It can easily be that her nose is just a bit bunged up from the new flooring. But especially as your are going away, you want to have things checked.

I agree it could be dust but you are right to get her checked especially if you think it is on her chest.

Back from the vet and no strange noises performed for the vet. She has been checked over thoroughly and given a clean bill of health. Hubby did say she sneezed whilst I was out of the room so vet thinks she may have had something up her nose that was causing the noise. Next problem is fitting the vet bed in the washing machine.
