So tonight, I have finally found out which piggy has been making a strange noise.

Violet is clearly making a strange noise when pooing, she raising her bottom up whilst straining I think.

Any ideas?

I'm no expert but sounds like it may be a UTI or potentially stones. Have you noticed any squeaking when weeing? or any weight loss?
Best to get it checked out at the vets. I know how it feels I am going with my potential UTI pig tomorrow. x

Thanks for the reply. No squeaking when weeing that I have noticed or weight loss either. Am thinking stones initially, looks like a vet visit either way for sure. Knickers!

Hi Lil,

Putt had chronic cystitis and used to cry when pooing. It could also be the sign of a UTI or stones as Klee has said. Let us know how the vets goes. Hoping you can get stones ruled out. Love to Violet x

Thanks will do, she seems normal except just the motion and sound, but she will get a full check over. She's a good girl, doesn't complain much so when she does I know it's something. You know how good they are at hiding their pain.

Thanks again x

I think I know the noise you mean, I had a guinea who had a stone and raised her bum when weeing and made a weird lurching noise. I didn't know why until I heard the same noise on you tube with a guinea doing the same thing it did explain why they make the weird noise but I can't remember. Good luck.

Best of luck at the vet. With mine, it was most often either a cystitis or small stone problem. I hope that it is the first rather than the second for you!
