Does anybody ever put there pigs out in the front garden, obviously it would have to be supervised as front gardens are alot more public. Or is this crossing the forbidden line of being totally bonkers not like I didn't already cross it along time ago rolleyes.

It just depends on your embarrassment threshold :))

Having said that, I did once get caught talking to my pigs when I was loading them into the car. I have put the carrier on my front wall and talked to the piggies when I came to pick them up. Baby talk as well...:))rolleyes

I plan on doing that tmrw! The grass needs cut and the guineas will enjoy doing that far more than I would!

I've been caught too! Next door had builders and he asked me if my cat was going on holiday, when I told him it was guinea pigs he looked at me like I was weird! inbreeding :))

Anyway...my piggies only go in the back garden, but only really because we get alot of people walking through our street to the field with dogs - and the garden is open so I wouldn't want to chance it..

It's piggy related there is no embarrassement threshold, I plan on taking my neice out too, and then I'll pretend its all her idea.

I have been caught talking to my pigs loads its normal, well my idea of normal!

The grass looks so much nicer in the front and it desperately needs cut the pigs would love doing it! :))!

:)) i would out mine out... but the runs to big to move through the house

i do walk my rabbit ralph out there though.. the neighbers get used to it :))

Mine go in the front garden all the time because they'd be doggy chow if they went out the back :) I just sit and read my book or whatever while they're munching

mine to out the front when the grass gets long enough! it doesn't really bother me. Some kids walking by wanted to come and see them and I was happy enough to show off my girls.

We normally put ours in the back but had ours in the front a few weeks ago as the grass was nicer out front and of course when our neighbors spotted the caging they wanted to come over to see what was in it. There was just alot of aww how cute from them, asked their names etc The kids that were around showed no interest! I think everyone already thinks I'm some kind of mad guinea pig woman so I'm not really fussed what people think!

There's hardly any grass out in our back garden and loads at the front so I used to put my old piggies and rabbit out the front. But now I won't because I'm too scared to, and the front is on a slope and the runs I have now can't really work on the slope. And my dad puts weed and feed on the grass at the front.

I'd be a bit scared of someone stealing them to be honest, or just letting them free as a joke. Also the neighbour kids often kick their football over the fence into the front garden by accident (which I don't mind) and it would scare the guinea pigs. Or the kids might want to see the guinea pigs and play with them. I'd prefer people not to know I have a lot of pets here.

And we have a conservatory at the back, which I'm usually sitting in when I'm inside (like now on my laptop) and I can look out and watch all the animals, which is really nice. If I couldn't see them then I'd be constantly having to go out and check them.

When I first was living in this house, we had no hedge or fence at the back, and we have fields behind the house, but I was sitting talking to my guinea pigs, as you do, and the farmer's son (who was in my school) came walking by, and then later texted me saying "nice guinea pigs" . . . he musn't have thought I was too crazy though because then he asked me to his debs/prom/ball :)

They are out the front now and I'm currently sitting on my laptop at the front door watching them, no were's even noticed me or them are there, either that its perfectly normal :))!

front Gardens

Yes mine go in the front garden. Although saying that I run a rescue and need to, due to space. I live in a Cul de sac so don't have passing, possible pinchers!

My freind who runs a rabbit rescue puts her at the front, and walking to school I've seen Guineas in a run at the front.

I think it helps people see that piggies should be out enjoying the outside. Rather than being stuck in a cage. People may walk past see them and think "yes I should get mine out".

Sorry for spellings havn't got spell check on this computer.

I put mine out front as there is only a little grass in the back. However it is quite noisy from cars etc so I have to admit I sit out with them reading my book or washing my car or generally enjoying a vino plonko in the sun! I think its partly for protection and partly cos I just love sitting out with them! :))

I do think they are bit more nervous when cars go past and I feel a bit worried about how many kids walk past, but it depends on your neighbourhood really - mine isnt brilliant to be honest hence why I sit out with them. x

mine go out the front occasionally, only because it is a dandelion paradise!
Plus it gets the sun in the evening so is nice to sit out the front with them.
I am always happy to share my piggies with people and as there is a bus stop outside I have tried to educate people on them (piggies are going to take over the world! ;) )

:)) love it, hilariously enough I would love to be at the bus stop and someone to start talking about piggies would make my day :(|)

I have mine at the front at the moment, mainly because it is flat and the back is sloped. But thinking of moving them as 9 piggies a rabbit and occaisional foster ones gets a bit much really rolleyes
