sooo, We had a smaller sized water bottle for our new one Chole, she drank out of that but we had to fill it so often because she would empty it and it would get dirty quickly inside it.. We got the same type of bottle but bigger, she would not drink from it for 3 days, I put the old bottle back in and she is drinking from that.. Makes no sense, can someone explain?

It is because it is new and she is not used to it. Why dont you show her how to use it? Bring it to her and let her put her mouth on it.

she puts her mouth on the other one just fine. They are the same bottle just one holds more water then the other.

Because I broke Redemption's bottle after I got him, I had to find another. I had to try several types of bottles and spouts before I found one that worked for him; he, too, would not drink out of some of the other bottles. Until I found the current bottle, I had found a bottle and spout that he wouldn't use until I put the spout from the original bottle onto that new one, then he would use it. It was the spout, not the bottle. Finally I have found a large enough bottle made by the same company as the original bottle's makers (Super Pet), and he uses that quite well.

I thought it must have been the spout; they are made all on the same principle but are of different constructions. Some are straight, some are angled (he preferred the angled), and some have one ball bearing inside the tube, some have two ball bearings inside, and the one he is using now and is the type he likes has two ball bearings and a spring to add resistance. So he likes the angled spouts with the ball bearings that don't just slide up and down.

Picky, picky, picky, piggie.

She is finally drinking out of it! :)

I expect I'll be having this problem soon, I've ordered a new cage and a new water bottle. Like everything it takes them time to adjust and i'm sure they enjoy watching us tear our hair out thinking of solutions to their pickyness.
