Can piggies eat the tops off strawberries (you know, if I've sliced the very top off a strawberry and it still has the green leaves attached).

All of mine love the strawberry and the green top, if I'm eating strawberries as well they get the greens off of mine

They dont seem to have had any problems. However I do find that I get strawberry smelly wee:)

mine love it too, as well as the strawberry! i lover giving them kissise after they've eaten it too as they all strawberry lipped! :)

For some reason I always assumed strawberry leaves/tops were not safe. Will have to see what my lot make of them!

I had a free range boar called Twinkle, he used to stick his nose in the air and follow the smell if I came in with a bowl of strawberries, he fair nearly jumped up the front of the chair that I was sitting on to get at them. You could here him slurpping as he ate them.:))

just to post an update, like lincolnsmommy ... they ate all the leaves and left all the strawberry rolleyes:))

I also have read that stawberry tops should not be given to piggies but if all is well with the one's that have eaten them well that is good. I will stay away from them but only cause of what i have read. x

I've always cut the top bit off for them - next time I'll need to try give them a bit and see if they like it. What a shame if I've been missing giving them the best bit.
