I would love to put some string lights around my boys cage but i’m worried about them being a fire hazard.

I’m wondering if they’re a) safe enough to be able to go around the perimeter of their c&c cage and b) which kind would be the safest. Voltage wise and batteries or plugged into the wall?

The boys chewing them is not an issue as their cage has tall c&c walls.

Thanks :)

I used battery ones across the back of my cages that are in a dark corner. They did help with the poor light situation but gathered dust and got in the way when cleaning, when the battery's ran out I removed them. I have seen bloggers on Youtube using the plug in ones with no problems but I would worry about a piggy chewing the wire as they can reach up to the top of the grids.

I also used to use some. I spent a lot of time checking the different ones for heat output etc. Mine were plug in and I used a timer. I did worry about chewing but my boys had no interest.

I’m not great at maths so was wondering if anyone could help. What length would i need for a 2x4 cage with the hopes of it going all the way around. It’s around 4.2m perimeter (the cage) but i’m struggling to convert that to string light terms 😂

You want a bit of slack so about 5 meters, or you could get two shorter ones.
