Hi all,

lately (last week or two) my two boys have started smelling quite musky. Is there anything I can do to reduce the smell? It comes back very quickly after cleaning out the cage, which I do every three days. I've had them since September and they've not smelled this strong before.

I never had boys but I do believe they are slightly smellier than girls much like humans!

Mine smell when they get a bit, er, excited...so basically every few weeks when their wives come into season!

Last week Bounty, Whiskey and then Honey were in season and their double hutch did whiff a bit as JoJo was 'spreading manly love' all over the place :{

Ewwww, nice:(|)

Ewwww, nice:(|)

It stains the flipping hutches as well, and my nice pink hoody

Proof neutering a guinea pig certainly doesn't change some things, there may be no sperm there but whatever is left is still bleeeeuurrrggh :)>>>

Wow i've never noticed any of these things maybe I'm super unobservant!

I don't even have girl pigs! I wonder what's getting them so excited :))

My boys are the same!

Do you see them dragging there bum about the place? I'm pretty sure it is them scenting. My pair like to do it as soon as there room is all clean lol x

"Eau be boar" (otherwise known as testosterone) can be amazingly powerful considering how small piggies are!

With a new girl next door and two of (neutered) Hywel's harem in season as the same time, I'm currently living in "Whiffton-upon-Rumble". Whether it is boars coming into their hormones or neutered boar going after girls, the effect is the same!
