HI all..

Question,

So Lately My boys Pee has been smelling extremely strong.. More potent then normal.. Having to change the towles/fleece more often now then before... Have not changed anything, His diet has stayed the same its just it seems his pee is much stronger, I know its not the poop because I smelt that and then smelled where it was wet on the towel and thats where it is coming from..

ANy ideas

I've noticed that with my boys the pee has got stronger and more in quantity as they've got older. We had pancake from when he was 2 months and now he's 5 months and there's just so much! Lol. I assumed it was normal but now you've made me doubt myself lol

How old is he? He could be going through the hormonal stage which may be affecting how smelly he is. It may be worth checking his urine to make sure it's not gritty and there's no signs of infection (blood) and checking his man bits just to make sure it's all clean round there.

hes had his man bits removed, hes a lilt over a year now, maybe closer to 2...

The heat has been on about a month now in the house... this just started to crop up about 2 weeks ago.

Are they indoors? Have you got the heating on? I find once the heating goes on in the house pee smells much worse...?

x.

yes indoors and heating has been on a month now.. this did not happen last year in the winter with the heat..

Horrible smelling wee can be a sign of infection. Check how much he's drinking and keep an eye out for signs of discomfort (hunching, crying) when weeing. It could be cystitis or an other uti, in which case abx needed from vet plus metacam. Easy to treat, but needs to be caught. Would be worth checking out, in case (by a vet).
