My 1 1/2 year old boar has started making an absolutely toxic scent the last few days. I had to place my sister's guinea pig in the same room as him for about two weeks, during which he scented a bit stronger than usual. But on the last day he started making an incredibly strong odor that stinks up the whole room. The second guinea pig has been gone for days and he's still making it and I don't know what to do. He's still eating and behaving normally, but could this be a sign of impaction or a uti?

You boy is a bit too young for impaction, but the presence of a sow could account for hardened semen rods stuck in the penis shaft and for boar glue, both of which are rather smelly. Please have a careful look at his bits and the bum area, and gently try to express his penis.

If the smell is more like very stale urine, then he is likely suffering from a bladder infection and needs a trip to the vets.
