Hi,

So this morning I noticed lots of rumbling coming from the piggies cage. I left them and carried on as I assumed they were either arguing over who got the last piece of food or purring and enjoying their breakfast. By the way I have two female pigs, Fudge who is 3 y.o. and Walnut who is 8 months old.

Anyway, I was sat working and all of a sudden the piggies started to sort of fight. They were both rumbling and chasing each other in tight circles. I stopped them and picked Fudge up to calm her down- she seemed fine, just a little shaken up as I think walnut started the fight. Walnut had run into a hidey and I could still hear her rumbling.

Once they had both had a little time to calm down I put Fudge back in the cage and they seemed fine. However it wasn't until a few hours later that they chased each other again. This time I picked up Walnut to separate them. She seemed scattery and was biting/tugging on the blanket she was sat on. I then put her back in the cage. I havent seen anymore fights/chasing but I have heard rumbling and seen marking of territory and rumble-strutting.

I'm slightly concerned as I dont want their bond to be broken, they've only been together since August and were getting on fine until today. I think it is because walnut is probably in season and is a teenage piggy so seasons are much worse for her.

Also, Fudge seems to be getting much stronger seasons since her sister Oreo crossed the rainbow bridge in the summer/since she met walnut. Is this normal?

What do you think? Is it just a strong season or a bonding issue? Also, has anyone else had this experience or have any advice for what I should do in the meantime. Any help would be much appreciated. Sorry for the very long post. Thank you in advance!
