All i seem to do is worry.

So am sorry if I'm annoying anyone.

When i changed my piggies bed yesterday....it smelt quite strong. Now she does pee in the same spot in her bed. She also pees alot, when she was out for her exercise while changing her cage yesterday she peed twice (on cardboard she doesnt seem to do it in the floor bless her) but there was alot of it and it seemed quite thick.

Is this normal? Or do you think she could have a UTI?

We have only had her a week & I'm a first time mummy so learning. She is eatting and drinking fine.

x

Guinea pig wee is quite thick i know from past experience having them wee on me :)) They wee a lot if they have fresh veggies, i have to change my piggies bed every other day as they use it as a toilet but i don't mind too much as i love watching them tuck into their veggie bowl every night :) Regards smell, urine it has an odour mines not overly that strong but it could be dependent on the diet etc.... x

Well that would tie in perfectly as delilah only start peeing more after we started her on fruit an veg.

damn I'm such a worrier!

Thanks :)

Its perfectly natural to worry when you get a new pet, i've just got a tortoise and i'm watching it like a hawk as never had a reptile before :)) Fruit and veg makes them wee more as a lot of water, wee doesn't tend to smell a great deal but it does have an odour. How often do you clean the bedroom out?

Atleast am not the only one to worry.

We clean her bedroom out daily xx

'Guinea pigs can wee for England'
This was said to me by a vet, when I took my first ever pigs in for a check up. he also said what great pets they were, so he wasn't being negative about them, just telling me what to look out for. He was right too!
I'd worry more if they didn't wee a lot.

They deffo pee alot..Delilah peed on me last night!

Funny thing is she only does it on warm spots!

So you that was no fun walking round in my long top in my bfs lol
