I just noticed some stuff in Penny’s eye. She’s still acting normal; eating, drinking, active. Should I get a tissue to wipe this off? Should I be concerned? She’s never had this before

Should I wipe it with a tissue and then keep an eye on it?Hi!
It looks like the overflow from some irritation in the eye, perhaps some hay dust etc.
Please see a vet promptly if you notice continuing signs of irritation like watering (and translucent crusts), squinting, drawn-in eyes or signs of ulceration (a bluish-white dot or film over the eye). Sometimes a bit of hay or grass can get stuck under a lid.

So here’s an update. I called the vet yesterday to see if I should bring Penny in and she told me to keep an eye on her eye. This morning I noticed she had been squinting and now there’s more discharge so I called the vet again. Penny now has an appointment for Monday morning (wish it was sooner). But what could this be? What could have caused this? She’s still acting normal; eating drinking, and active.

I wish I could've gotten her in today but they were fullHi!
It can be anything from something stuck under a lid to a not yet ulcerating eye poke or scratch. An ulcer the bluish-white dot or film that develops on the eye surface in case of an infection.
Having an eye problem at the start of a weekend or during a weekend is always a pain. I have ended up a few times at the emergency vets on a Saturday night or Sunday morning with a quickly developing severe injury...![]()
well done and i understand your worry and panic not getting to vets early etc . .Penny's eye looked better over the weekend but I still wanted to get it checked out. Vet said Penny looks and sounds greatShe gave Penny medicine just in case a URI is possibly starting. I'd rather be on the safe side and give her the medicine.
