stuff in the cage [please read]

1) how do you guys keep your fabric down?
[doesnt it move all around the cage when the piggies run?]

2) wouldnt they eat it?

i just bought some fleece [poohbear and tigger btw] drool
and just realised all these things.

i put them in their new cage last night and did NOT fall asleep because all i heard was them scurring very loudly i might add to the opposite side of the cage at every tiny movement they saw.
 
I dont use fleece for this reason, my piggies make tunnels under it rolleyes but those that do put newspaper down first, then old towels then the fleece. I am sure others will be along to answer. I use rubber backed vet bed over newspaper, it is more expensive but stays in place and washes well so lasts and lasts :)
 
Never had a problem with them going under it and have been using it about 3 years now. For the first time ever in the last couple of months I've had a problem with a piggy shredding it but she shreds everything. Going to change her name from Rosie to Shredder. :))
 
I put my fleece under the C&C cubes and then they cant get under it.

They sometimes have a nibble on it, but I put some willow sticks, tubes and stuff in and that generally keeps them occupied

Ive been using flease for a few weeks and at first had the same **** as you chocco would drag it to one corner and make a wonderfull bed! :P I solved it by putting sticky back velcro pads in each corner of the cage. The flease sticks to it and chocco has to cope with only his house to sleep in :P
I also have a section of the cage which is just shavings and hay so flease stays tidy and poop free....mostly
 
I have profleece and they usually, if it is put down properly, non-tunneling-underable.
I use cat litter (wood pellet) underneath to keep it dry and change it daily with a once a week big clean.
 
chocco I'm so glad you mentioned that thats what i was going to do but i forgot to get anything then figured good i could ask on here first before finding out it didnt work.
