Stupid question: does the hair of a Sheltie grow back?

Hi all,

Summer is approaching and I would like to get prepared. I have one black Silkie/Sheltie piggy and I wanted to cut her hair really short.

My only concern is that it will not grow back. Has anyone tried it? Also, how long does it take until it grows back to its normal length?

Yes, it will grow back. I have to cut my long haired piggie Rapunzel about once a month around her behind.

How do you all cut them? Is there certain parts u need to be careful apart from the obvious

I usually use a comb and small clippers. I comb a section and hold the comb between the skin and clippers and buzz it off. Scissors make me nervous around them, I actually cut my own finger the first time I tried with scissors.

I give Betsy her summer hair do which is a grade 4. It takes me 2 days as she will only let me do one side at a time so she looks a bit strange for 24 hours. Here she is with her luscious locks in the first picture and the second one with her summer hairdo. It does grow back by the winter time.

I use scissors.

I am already clipping Cupcake's hair regularly around her bum, but I never did anything too radical and I was scared that the it won't grow back as nice as it is now
