Such simple little things, such fun to watch

Chester and Sylvester have been together for 3 weeks now and are getting on great. I have always had guineas living outside but now have these two and my old girl Tillie living in the utility room. When Chester lived outside with his old mate Zebedee he was a very quiet boy and quite shy but now living with Sylvester he has really come out of himself. Yesterday I put a brown paper tunnel in their cage and the fun they have had with it is so funny to watch. Sylvester popcorns at absolutely anything and this paper tunnel has sent him into a mad frenzy. He hurtles round the cage under the steps they use as hideys, through the cat food box full of hay, through the paper tunnel then sets off again. Chester gets jumped over if he is in the way but will also join in albeit at a slower pace (he's quite a big lump). Seeing them so happy over such simple things is just great.

Aww. I know what you mean. It is lovely to see them happy. Last time mine had floor time, Hamish spent a happy minute or two running round and round the tray of grass I had put out for them!

oh bless. I have just caught my girls a treat, Jeni was lounging in the hay tray with a little leg sticking out and Fiz was asleep on their fleece blanket. Even the gerbils were fast asleep in a patch of sun that was shining through the window!
