What did the vet say exactly?
It is difficult to tell from your description, but maybe a large abscess in the head or mouth area?
Have you been given any treatment for your guinea pig (pain relief, antibiotics)?
Are you syringe feeding to help keep your piggy fed and hydrated?

Your guinea pig sounds very ill, and should see a specialist cavy vet as soon as possible.

Hi and welcome!

How piggy savvy is your vet? Could you also please add your country, state/province or UK county to your details, so we can help you better. We have got members from all over the world. Please click on your username on the top, then go to personal details and scroll down to location. Thank you!

A large bald patch at the back of the head is usually either caused by mange mites or fungal - they need different treatments. If in doubt and if there is no clear diagnosis possible, vets will generally treat for both.
Can you post a picture?

What is your vet treating the eye with? It sounds very serious.

Please start syringe feeding and watering your guinea pig asap to prevent the guts from closing down and weigh it daily at the same time. Bring it indoors and keep it warm, but not hot.
Our illustrated step-by-step syringe feeding guide will tell you exactly how to do it. if you don't have any recovery powdered food at home, please mush up pellets; if they are still hand warm, they tend to go down best. Also offer your guinea pig as much food as possible. Has your guinea pig got painkillers?

He has had some injections and perked up a bit the vets says he could have Cushing so it's palliative care xx
