Hi Everyone, I have 2 ladies, approximately 7 months old. I have had them for 2 months. Dora - the smaller of the 2, has always done a little rumble-strut, but nothing else. For the past 2 days there behaviour has changed a lot! They are arguing, Dora is doing an awful lot of Rumble-strutting, and chasing. Especially when Flash goes anywhere near the house on the upper level.

Last night during one of there episodes, i saw Flash lift her bottom and pee on Dora's face. Obvs Dora was not impressed and started rubbing her face on her fleece and paws. But, this did work and she stopped strutting for a little while.

Dora used to sleep in the down stairs house and Flash always slept in the upstairs house, but now Dora sleeps in whichever one she fancies and Flash sleeps under the bridge upstairs.

Please can anyone tell me, is this normal? Could it be PMS related?
(PS-No blood or biting)

Thank you!

Sounds like someone is in season so should calm down in a couple of days!

Thank you. I was kind of thinking that might be it. My daughter keeps pointing at Dora and saying "naughty Dora, dont be a bully" so cute. I think she's slowly understanding.

Hi! It sounds like one of your girls is coming into season. Things should hopefully calm down again within a coule of days.

Sows do target pee at boars (and sometimes other sows) that sniff their genitalia for seasonal pheromones too intently and to discourage boars from mating before they are ready for it at the end of a season. You can always spot an experienced 'husboar' by how prepared he is to jump back instantly when investigating a sow bum!
