My guinea pig, Lily, was fine yesterday but when I came home from school today I noticed a difference in her. She's been making really low pitch breathy chirping as if she's trying to chrip but can't. She's also been making coughing noises a lot. within 15 minutes she had made the noise about 4 or 5 times. She has also been a lot sleepier lately.

I was wondering if anyone knows what is wrong with her and if I should take her to the vets.

My other guinea pig who I got about a month ago has been getting bolder with me and now letting me stoke her but today she has suddenly become very jumpy again. I don't know if this is related or not.

Please have her checked for a respiratory infection (URI) promptly! It can come on and develop very quickly and kill or permanently damage if not treated in time.

The nearest appointment I would be able to get would be tomorrow or Wednesday this wont be too late will it

To be honest they are so good at hiding illness that if you are noticing a difference now I would get her in as soon as possible. You can take the other one for company or get her checked if you are worried
