Hi everyone,

I've lost two of my boys recently, both within a couple of weeks. They were only just over a year old, both from the same litter, and showed no symptoms at all. I'm worried I'm missing something but my vet says sometimes these things happen and just to keep an eye on the rest. Do these things really happen to such young piggies? :(

I am so sorry for your losses. Was there any weight loss over any time or was it just sudden?

I'm really sorry for your loss. I lost a pig who was only a year old a few years back, but she was obviously ill before (had a bad facial abscess that developed sepsis.) I hope you get some answers and the rest of the pigs are fine. Did anything seem off before they died, even small things?

There were no signs at all with either of them, they were their usual selves until I found them lying in their pigloos. I checked them over for physical signs of illness I might have missed, or any injuries, but there was nothing. I'm worried I may have some sort of infection in my group - I have three other boys and four girls (separated of course) who all seem healthy but so did the others :(

So sorry to hear this, this is truely sad news. Hopefully your others will be fine and it is "just one of those things"
