Our gorgeous wee baby, Aerial (nicknamed aerie faerie) passed away very suddenly on Friday evening.

She and her sister Millie Moo came to us at 2 months old and we had her for 6.5years. She was always the leader and the cheeky one and Moo never left her side (or gave her a minutes peace!) until she passed away in Feb of this year.

I worried about Aerie Faerie being on her own and was looking for a rescue companion but after the first week she actually seemed to thrive with her own company. For the first time she actually loved getting time on the floor! Where previously she & moo sat in the same spot like a pair of slippers suddenly she was off and scampering round the living room and loving the adventure. It was great to see she had an even bigger personality than we knew!

I like to think we gave her a happy home life. She was always giving my son kisses, and one of my favourite pics is the two of them having a wee afternoon snooze and both snoring!

RIP my special baby. We will miss you so much :(

I am very sorry for your loss! Aerial lived to a good old age, but it is not any easier to lose a beloved piggy at any age; they older they are, the more precious memories you have!

The hot weather in the last week has sadly been very hard on the elderlies. many have left us. :(

PS: We have got a thread for extra special pictures of us with our guinea pigs; if you want to add the one with your son there? https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk...a-pigs-add-your-own-favourite-picture.105735/

I'm so sorry to hear about Aerial :( Popcorn free little girly xx

I'm so sorry that you have lost your beautiful Ariel.
I too have just walked in to find my beautiful 6month old baby girl Aneka, dead. She is the one on the right in my avatar picture here. Been ill, but having lots of attention and treatment and was not expecting this.
Joined in sadness with you at the moment and so it seems we may also be joined by Christian name. I'm called Helene.

Run free little one... x

Thank you so much everyone for your kind thoughts. It's a weird feeling in the house at the moment. I keep going to start a conversation with her when I come into the room. It's very quiet without her. To everyone else who has lost their furry friends my heart goes out to you. It's pretty devastating but we can console ourselves that we were privileged to be their guardians :)

Feeling your loss. Have lost three in 5 weeks. Leaves a real raw spot in the heart doesn't it? Are you thinking of starting again with some others when the time feels right? So many need the love and attention from people like ourselves, who are addicted to giving them the care and attention their little souls deserve.
P.S. do we share a Christian name? Helene? Love to know as it's not many times you come across the name!
Take care now, hope your pain heals soon, Helene.
