I'm traveling for 3 weeks for work. My mother is taking care of the guinea pigs during that time, she knows how to take good care of them and knows the feeding and cleaning routine.

Mime, Bijou's company, was normal last night, eating and running around, he is about 1 year old now, also screaming for food everytime she entered the room. This morning, Mime wasn't moving, he didn't eat the vegetables he loves so much and nothing about the hay, no screaming, and no pooping from him. Mother started critical feeding (I taught her with my previous piggies), but she has no ability and couldn't make him eat with the syringe this morning. She is at work and she doesn't know how he is right now.

Vet is available at saturday only, I tried to schedule as soon as possible but they didn't let me. I'm traveling back home urgently and won't be there for another few hours.

It looks a lot like GI from what she said. I'm very worried, I'm already on my way home. This post is more of a vent... I hope he's okay when I get home and that nothing bad has happened... I will begin critical care with syringe, weight him and pain medication while waiting for the vet...

HUGE HUGS

Fingers very firmly crossed for both of you. My thoughts are with you.

So stressful. You put in place a strong plan, it’s really bad luck. Hope he’s ok and you can get him eating.

Thank you everyone ❤️

Mother arrived at home. He is inside the house since morning (about 6-7 hours). Mother sent me a photo of him from now. I am about 1 hour and a half left from home.

I think some of the poops on the photo are his. Bijou's poops always were much bigger than his, and by the photo I see some that are smaller.

I am feeling so anxious, I can't wait to get in home... Mother again tried to give him some bell pepper and leaves, but he refuses...

You’ll be home soon. ❤️

He just passed away in my lap...

I arrived at home now... I came directly to him he was gasping, breathing fast... I took him in my lap and caressed his eyes and then he was gone...

What could have happened? He was fine yesterday night, he was running, eating and screaming, doing a lot of zoomies. How could this have happened? What could have occurred? There is nothing weird in the enclosure, there was nothing weird in his body... Bijou seems very scared... Bode (in the other enclosure) is fine.

I put him back in his enclosure for Bijou give him a goodbye, I am burying him soon...

I can't believe this happened

Oh no I’m so sorry. I’m pleased you managed to see him one last time and he was surrounded by your love. ❤️
