Have searched forums and come up with an equal result of yes and no's, but alot of posts were very old.

So can they have it? xx

They can eat it. It's a member of the genus brassica, which include things like cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower etc. so can cause gas if fed in large quantities.

I think most people find that their pigs don't like swede...

Mine certainly don't!

mine have it in chunks when my mum has it, so not very often, they all eat it, although its not a favourite :)

I have never tried mine on it, but OH decided it would be a good idea and i said not until i have checked it is safe, will try it out tonight.

I cant stand the stuff myself - YUK!

Thanks xx

Best of luck, ours turned their noses up at it. Cookie went and hid :))

Mine like the peeling, but only in small quantities, plus it stinks like farts if left in the hutch for more than an hour! :))

Will let you know what they think then, so should i peel it first or just cop it into chunks?

Never bought a swede before so i dont actually know what to do with it :))

Will have to try my 6 with some, knowing them tho they wont eat it, fussy piggie's hehe

we peeled it, then gave a few small diced bits, then removed the diced bits 30 mins later and replaced with some watermelon to appease the stink eye's we were getting....

Is it that bad....? LOL

Think i will do it just before cage clean out time :))

i just chop into chunks and put it in.

i dont like it either, hence they only get it if mum gives me some :)

one of my piggies like a nibble of it but its definitely not one of his favourites, my other piggie sniffed it once and ran off and i had to bribe him with cucumber to come out again :))
