Thought I had my allergies under control, I’m on perscribed antihistamine and they have been working fine for a few months whilst the boys were having meadow hay from hay box... after a few brown boxes they decided it wasn’t for them and we have switched back to Timothy hay and boy am I suffering 😭😭
I’m going to order taster packs from every hay come pay I can find of different variety’s in the hope of finding one they enjoy!
I do normally suffer around hay fever season pretty badly too, working from home is probably not helping.
Going through tissues like I don’t know what! But I would never give up the boys I love them far too much!

Oh no, poor you. I was really allergic to my rats, didn’t stop me keeping 11 of them either! I’m actually a bit allergic to white piggies too, I come out in a rash after handling Aliona and Luigi, was the same with Jess and Rupert!
Thankfully I don’t need meds with the pigs but I did take over the counter Piriton (chlorphenamine maleate) for pretty much 7 years straight when I had my male rats which helped! So sorry your meds aren’t helping! :hug:We just put up with all the snots for the pet love! (We must be mad! :D:))) Hope you feel better soon x

I didn’t realise you could be allergic to one colour of piggie!
I’m glad I know what it is now, it’s odd as it never came out straight away but built up after 6 months, I can’t even have fresh flowers in the flat either anymore as the pollen means I can’t breathe!
hoping when things go back to normal I can go and do some proper tests before I scratch my eyes out 😂😂

Same here! It started getting worse after I had J&R a couple of years, never when I was a teenager with our white pig Munchkin?! I’d give Jess kisses and feel my lips tingling! :)) Jasper’s dry fuzzy locks don’t make me rashy though, very strange! 🤷‍♀️
Poor you! My youngest sister suffers with hay fever terribly too, only as she got in her 20s! Oh god yeah, definitely don’t want to lose your eyeballs! Hope you can get tests in the very near future and they can help more, must be a nightmare! 🤞

I’m the same as your sister it started badly in my 20’s too.. (still clinging onto them for a few more years 😂) I had mild seasonal asthma as a child but since I hit 21 it’s been shocking!

She had terrible asthma as a child, maybe it’s all connected or something, sounds similar! Sounds horrible! :(
Haha yes cling on! I still think I’m in mine but 35 this year, nooooo! :yikes::fog:XD

If you ever have the chance to try allergy testing and follow this up with desensitisation injections I highly, highly recommend it.

I am allergic to pretty much everything, but after having the tests and the follow up injections over a 4 year period I can honestly say my allergies are 90% cured. I know it isn't the same for everyone, but I was extremely lucky and got great results, although it is a very slow process!

This is what I am looking into, I will probably have to go privately but I am thinking it will be very much worth it as my hayfever is so bad anyway without having piggies in the flat!
