Any suggestions on how to know if one piggy is eating? I have 2 that are together and noticed that Oreo was helping herself to both bowls eating away. How can I make sure Sunshine is eating as I have a feeling she's not. Doesn't seem herself so want to make sure she's eating.
 
Feed them separately maybe?
But as you also posted you though she wasn't drinking either then you might need to take her to the vet for a checkup.
If she isn't eating or drinking then she will deteriorate very quickly, so a trip to the vet is necessary to work out what the underlying problem is.
 
Yes i think the only sure way is to put a cage divider in and monitor the situation. i wonder if hand feeding could give a clue - if you get a favourite like parsley you could see if there's any interest.

If too shy for handfeeding, try feeding though the bars with something long like a dandelion leaf or herbs so your piggy doesn't need to come too close.
 
Thanks- as soon as I out the food in last night (after Oreo helped herself to what she wanted out of both bowls) Sunshine came out of her hidey and was eating.
Might take to the vet just to make sure.
 
Sounds like you're seeing some positive signs there - weighing of course is essential. And your idea of a vet visit to be on the safe side. Hopefully it'll turn out to be something and nothing
 
To be honest I didn't know (until reading posts/ threads on here) to make sure to weigh them specially if thinking problems. Where would I get a scale for cheap other then online sites?

So to answer the question. No I am not weighing.
 
I just use my regular kitchen scales (digital).
I put the piggies in a cardboard box with a blanket and pop that on top (obviously I weight the box and blanket separately and deduct that from the total).
So if you have kitchen scales they would be fine.
 
Ok. Don't have a digit scale ( or even a scale for that matter lol) but will have to invest in one.

Sunshine seems more lively today so hope it was just me being paranoid and nothing wrong.
