Suilven, My Best Boy...

I am devastated to be writing this, I had always assumed I would have many more years with this handsome young boy left to live and that he would with me for a long time yet but it just wasn't to be. We were only just getting back to normal after the loss of his best mate, Donald a few months ago and the introduction of a new friend

After a short illness we had to let our darling Suilvy leave us. He had fought so hard right up until the end but there was just no way back.

We are distraught to be without him, not imagining life without his cheeky face, snuggles and licky-ness. Struan is also so very sad to see him go after a very close friendship for only four short months.

He's been laid to rest in the garden next to his beloved dinky Donald dude. I am so proud of him, he has had 4 friends, at least two homes and much more to deal with but he was so special to us. Nothing will ever replace him. He helped me raise money for a number of rescues by posing so elegantly for photos, sold as greetings cards so I know his legacy will live on.

Sleep well my darling Suilvy-roo, go popcorn free with your Dinky and Merry-moo and enjoy the eternal field of basil. You will be missed so much by me and Gill. You were our everything.

Oh how sad. I really am so sorry he did not make it. What a special boy he was. You will have very nice memories.

That is terrible news, I thought things were getting back on track after Suilven's short illness, not worse, I am terribly sorry, and he was a gorgeous piggie.
R.I.P Suilven, sleep well, and have fun over The Bridge...
 
Oh no I am so sorry he didn't pull through. Night night little man, hope you are all ok, especailly Struan.
 
I'm so sorry that Suiliven could not stay with you for a little longer. He really was beautiful, a very handsome boy. It is so difficult when they are poorly and fight so hard against it.

Struan is ok. I think the fact Suilvs had been in the vets for a wee while helped him get used to being on his own again but it when we managed to bring Suilvs home for 24 hours Struan was so excited to see him he was popcorning around like a loon. Hopefully he will be ok for a wee while till we are ready to find him a new buddy.
 
It's so hard having to get new ones after losing one, i had to get a new friend for pebbles when I lost fizz as she was so miserable.When I got the new one just talked to my photo of fizz as I felt so guilty but pebbles health had to come first.Love poppy rose now(didn't take long for me to bond with her as she loves snuggles)
 
Huge hugs to you and Gill. I had the pleasure of meeting Sully lots of times, he was a one in a million piggie, so happy and relaxed and so friendly. I know how much he means to you both and I was so willing him to recover from his illness. I am so sorry.

You really did everything you could for him and are amazing piggie parents. He had the best life ever with the both of you and your boys. Lots of love to you both, we're hear if you need to talk x x

I am sorry to read your post, bad news indeed, I think it's important to take comfort knowing he had a great life with you.

So so sorry for your tragic loss of Suliven. Please take comfort in the fact that you did everything as piggy parents to help him live. What a little fighter he was but will have now met all his old piggy friends over rainbow bridge and he wouldnt want you to get too sad.

I am so sorry that Suilven hasn't made it from his illness. What a sad blow so soon after your other loss! Suilven was a real sweetie, and you and Struan will be missing him loads!
 
Unfortunately he deteriorated overnight after we brought him home and there was nothing more they could do so we took the decision to help him on his way. At least he is at peace now.
 
A truly sad start to the New Year and know the devastation these furries leave behind when they go off to The Bridge :no:

I'm so sorry for your loss, I had been following your thread of his illness and really did not expect to see this news. He was such a gorgeous boy and it is so sad that he wasn't able to get better.

They do deteriorate so quickly dont they, MerryPip :( You did the right thing, it would have been very unfair to leave him to linger on.
 
Really sorry to read of your loss. Very sad news for you and for Struan.
I know that when he went to stay with Salt N Peppers Mum to bond with Chocolate / Donald she said that Suliven had such a great, relaxed way about him. RIP Suliven - in a lovely meadow with massive dandelions.
