I am a little concerned about when it gets really warm..at night even i need the fan on.

Could you use ice in a water bottle and cover with fleece for them to cool against ?

I saw some dinky water bottles in Home bargains with pink knitted cover..i shall get one of those tomorrow if its a good thing to do ?

Yep, as long as they're covered (I use socks :) ) so they don't get too cold, they seem to enjoy relaxing next to a frozen bottle in the hot summertime

You can buy proper 'ice-pods' but a bottle of water works out much cheaper!

Yes i saw the ice pods thats what made me think of the little water bottle :)

I freeze small drink bottles (as in coke / pepsi bottles) and then cover with a thick sock for my girls during the summer months :)
If it's really stinking hot, which thankfully my girls have NOT had to live thru (they were born after the horrendous heat of 2009 in OZ) they'd also get a new frozen bottle and sock at night too
I also use small floor tiles in their house if it's continually hot, these are great for them to lie on :) I just get them out each day and wipe them clean ( i still have them from when we built our house 12 years ago)
