Ok. So it’s hot here in the UK. I bet many of us have reached for the clippers to help our furry friends feel a little cooler. So how about posting pics of your piggies’ new short haircuts on here?

I’ll go first with Felix. He still hadn’t got a full set of locks following his rescue but they wee growing back thick and fast

Here he was before his haircut

He’s feeling much cooler. And I have still left him with a thickish undercoat!

Oh bless him, he is so very handsome! Do you think Poppy my Swiss would benefit from a haircut? She's not a full long haired but she does have a lot of floof

I don’t think a trim would hurt. I think it depends how hot she is. When I picked up Felix yesterday he was very warm and so were his ears, and he was pancaking out a lot. He still has a bit of a thick coat but there’s much less of it to trap the heat.

He looks very smart in his summer hair do

He says thank you. He’s still feeling the heat but has banned me from getting out the clippers and removing any more hair.

Anyone else’s piggies had a haircut in this heatwave?

How do you have the confidence to DIY?

Oof it's bad enough trying to trim Roz's nails..she is very skittish though..luckily no haircut needed..I just wipe her down very quickly rather than brushing..she has been vet checked for nasties..all good..I just don't like chasing her about the place..

Wow, again that was a mountain of hair. Bet he feels cooler.
Oh yes or at least I hope so😂 only did it a few weeks ago and it's already sprouting back! Didn't get it as short as I'd have liked by for a first cut it went well lol.

Priscilla is due a bum bath and trim tomorrow ready for travelling on Thursday.
Will try to get pictures- she doesn’t believe in staying still though

It took almost a whole packet of dill but Priscilla had her fur trimmed. I’m not going to give up the day job :D

Those of you who use powered clippers to trim long haired piggies - what is the best product?

I think I need more than a pair of scissors to keep Priscilla’s fur well trimmed.
Thanks

Thanks Vicky- I see an Amazon order in the near future

You might get them cheaper elsewhere. And sometimes Amazon reduce the price of them. But that brand are ones I would go for again if mine died as they are so quiet and gentle. It was @Flutterby who recommended them to me.
