The sun is beaming down outside, me and the piggies will venturing out shortly for some sun and grass. My concern is I noticed yesterday I got burnt and think there wee ears could get burnt is suncream recommended to protect there ears. Obviously they will have access to water and shade but just incase they choose to be in the sun.

Sorry if its a silly question!

I was thinking the same - Orson is white and he sat in the sun for ages the other day. In fact I kept them in yesterday because the sun was so strong.

I would say cover the run completely with owels or something to make it in the shade. Maybe give them 10 minutes at a time in the sun if you want?

They will probably just lie in the shade anyway :))!

I completely cover my run so they dont get the chance as it is soooo hot. If it's a colder day then i wouldnt cover it over.
I don't know about putting suncream on, I'm assuming it would be ok, you can put it on a baby's skin afterall.
Enjoy the sun!

Piggies do NOT like being out in the full hot sunshine! Make sure that their run is covered with a sheet, beach towel or something to be in the shade during the heat of the day. If it is VERY hot, soak the fabrics, so that the evaporating water cools the run further.

This...we always cover our pigs and also covered our rabbit when he went out in the run when we had him. Pigs can easily overheat in direct sunlight.

Brought all of the piggies in today. The sun is far too hot and it is so humid. They've had their quota of grass. As they only regulate their body temps through their ears, I thought they'd be better inside where it's a lot cooler and less muggy.

They have an outdoor covered run with piggy house, but it was like a little oven.
