Sundae is getting on the older side (5.5 years or so) and I think she is slightly arthritic, so she has been getting some extra sympathy from the kids. Every time they see her get up on her hind feet on the bars, the run and get her a treat out of the fridge because they perceive this as a huge effort on her part that deserves a reward. I don't think it's actually THAT big an effort- she isn't THAT arthritic! This has led to Sundae climbing the bars every time a child walks by in an effort to get more carrots. It's hilarious how fast she has learned to turn this to her advantage, and equally hilarious how the kids don't realize that she has figured out how to extract maximum food from them and is now playing them all like a fiddle.

Hadley keeps getting extra treats this way too, even though no one really pays attention when Hadley climbs the bars, as she is a total moocher and still young and spry! I may have to ask the kids to limit all these extras to once a day or so... I don't mind my little old lady getting some extras, but 'Fatley' probably doesn't need all this extra food! LOL!

My girls and i have moved back to my parents for a while. I came from a flat but my parents have a house, and EVERY time someone comes up the stairs, they shreek at the top of their lungs thinking a plate of veggies is coming!

My guineas are in the living room near the kitchen door, the fridge is on the other side of the door, even making a cup of tea has become a major operation trying to open the fridge door quietly.

This morning I said to the kids, "The pigs are standing on their hind legs- I'm going to give them a carrot!" and my 11-year-old told me, "I stand on my hind legs all the time and you never give me anything!" LOL!
