So it has been exactly 9 days since our big visit to the specialist, eye is looking great but Sundae is still going up and down in weight. We simply cannot reach a constant growth. She was eating the CC over night but 2 days in, she refused to eat it again so I started syringe feeding her again. I had to stop that yesterday as she freaks out when we go to swaddle her and fusses and complains with the syringe. She absolutely hates it and I need my son to capture her. Her weight went up from 430 to 450, hovered for a few days and now is declining again.
She is eating her pellets and hay and veg, just not enough of it to get her to steadily gain.
Today she is all puffed up and huddled, I managed to catch her and weigh her but no change up or down.
I have a call out to the vet and will speak to her tomorrow but I am at a loss, I thought we were on the right track.
What do I do? I am stressing her out so much with a syringe but cannot get her to eat it on her own. She is still on pain meds, but can her jaw be seizing 9 days from her diagnosis? Is it something genetic that her metabolism is just not working?
I am at a total loss....

Please contact the vet clinic asap. Problems can appear; she sounds very ill and in pain.

So waiting for vet to call me back once again.
Managed to get her out of her cage on her own and have set up camp on my sons floor!
Gave her her metacam and free fed her a tablespoon of soaked pellets over the course of 45 mins.
She is running around but every now and again stops to eat or sits next to me.

What has been diagnosed wrong with her. Sorry I'm new to your posts

She has degenerative bone disease in her jaw and her front teeth are slightly missaligned due to a head tilt. She also had an eye ulcer but that has cleared up very well.

Oh my. it's very frustrating to see a piggie eat but seemingly not put weight.
You doing really well and keep strong.
Big vibes from me and my herd. x

O sorry to hear this. Nothing i have experienced before. Glad about the eye. Hope all goes well.

Thank you. I feel so bad for her, she is only a year and obviously a result of bad breeding.
She is also a huge love bug so all this syringe feeding is so frustrating for me as she hates it and fights it. I am so glad that she is eating these soaked pellets on her own. I have to camp of the floor and open her cage, she hops out and in at will and comes to me instead of me grabbing her and making her into a pggy burrito!

Awww, poor thing. Is she getting anything for pain relief? That might encourage her to eat. If chewing is painful, she will be less likely to want food. Wishing you and her all the best.
