I think my guinea pigs favorite day of the week is Sunday. Firstly because I'm not at work so they get lots of extra cuddles. Secondly because of all the extra treats they get.
A few weeks ago I went out to move the run and my neighbour called me over to the fence to see whether the girls fancied the veg peelings she was about to stick in her compost bin (carrot and cauliflower leaves). Since then she has put a small bucket of treats out for them every sunday evening without fail. Today was some cabbage and carrot and swede peelings which they are tucking into. Ontop of that the lady who lives in the next garden along has given me the veg peelings from her roast and an apple core and I am also doing a roast so they are going to have a special breakfast too of brocolli, carot peelings etc.
They get fruit and veg every day but I think the fact these are a gift makes them taste that little bit better and its so nice having understanding neighbours.
