Hi! I bought my guinea big 4 days ago. My boyfriend and I take him out a hour a day. He doesn't like to play with toys or toliet paper rolls. He just sits on our lap for a hour and purrs and shakes. Is that normal? Should we be encouraging him to run around? If so how do you do it? Thanks!

A shaking piggie is a very scared animal. The fact he just sits there is his prey instinct telling him to sit still and he might not be noticed! @sport_billy is the best person to advise. Have a look at the guides at the top of the page. Can't link in on this device.

I agree with Betsy - the purring isn’t purring, it’s growling I don’t like this, they shake with that noise, if they are shaking anyway they are scared abs sitting still is please don’t eat me.
I only take new guine apigs out for a minute or 2 each time.
