I am not sure if there is a thread on here about this already but thought I would start one, hope it is helpful what with the cost of everything at the moment!

Just list the deals and special offers that you see in the supermarket, mine is below.

Asda - whole corn on the cob 20p

Asda - whole corn on the cob 20p

I went there yesterday and bought three for just 60p ... a bargain! :)

Plus I gathered all the loose leaves from the crates and squeezed them into the bags also. It confused the checkout lady as she wasn't sure what I had in there.

When I explained it was for my piggies, she went on to say that she would have to tell her son as he has guinea pigs and also I had to explain how to microwave corn-on-the cob for her to eat as she wasn't sure how to cook them.

Very nice lady though ... love her!

Ooh, they like corn on the cob AND the leaves on it too then? Presume this is all raw (ahem)? Even the stringy stuff inside the leaves then?

sorry, can you tell I'm a novice at this? I'm trying hard to learn fast. :)

Tescos are doing organic celery for 48p each and 2 for £1 on 1kg bags of local carrots (no idea if the carrot offer is stafford only but worth a try).
Also 2 corn on the cob for 99p. And their value brocolli is brilliant!

I love Aldi at the moment. Yesterday i got one of those long cucumbers, a big bag of spinach and you get alot of leaves in it, a packet of chardonnay carrots and a lettuce, carrot salad bag (ok the salad bag has got iceberg lettuce in it but mixed with other lettuce too so i guess it's not so bad if they are having it with other types of lettuce, right? i mean iceberg lettuce isn't poisonous just got water in it.) and it all came up to £2.49 i think for all that. I thought it was going to be more.

I get excited about veggie bargains for my piggies even if i'm not to one that's eating it :))

I read that iceberg lettuce was "toxic to guinea pigs", but I'm not 100% sure...

Large bunch of flat leaf parsley at 64p or two for £1.00 at my local Asda.
Not the packaged or growing version, but a bunch tied with an elastic band.

Its not toxic, because i'm sure Flash would be dead now if it was. I feed him it and monitor him daily and check his poops and stuff, and he seems fine, theres no diahorrea or any abnormalities.
