just wondering where everybody else shops for veg. i go asda and morrisons but always find better deals at morrisons. where do you think the best is for bargins?

Aldi at the mo although do top up with Morissons veg if I run out. Romaine is 98p for 2 in Morrisons as well as £1.00 for a bag of peppers. Asda do have Celery for 50p but it is 33p in Aldi!

Used to go to Lidl but its a bit out of my way so only pop in if I am passing! :)

yea i keep hearing on here people having good views on lidl and aldi but i dont have either near me id have to go through the town traffic. i only have tescos morrisons and asda near me. when i go morrisons they do have reduced bags of veg etc however these dont last long with them being reduced so if i was to buy them id have to go daily lol ::)

I use morrisons for the big weekly veg shopping and use tescos if i need to stock up on anything during the week. We have a veg market near s every saturday and get some great bargains there, this saturday we got cheap strawberries, broccalli, celery and all there spare trimmings they let us have 5 fresh corn cbs for 50p, 10p each when they knew it was for the piggies :smitten:

Asda but its not very good as the romaine lettuce is expensive ?

I go to Lidls once a wheek if I can. They are quite cheap but I like it that the leaves etc are left ON, not trimmed to death. I have got stuff in the market before and I get herbs when they reduce them in Sainsburys ;D

Lidls for me much cheaper than my local Tescos who advertise loads of special offer but never have them in store! ::) They are just up the road from me.

My asda's not great for veg, can never find half the things i need, Tescoshave the best spring greens in and hey do quite alot of herbs on salelate at night i always get. Morrisons do honey dew melon aswell cut in lsices for my piggies, ever where else does full melons that go t waste :P

yeah i found the slices of melons at morrisons which i find really handy so i buy them every now and then for treats and il munch on the rest lol. i think I'm going to try tescos this week. i dont really like asda they dont seem to have much on offer

I work in a sainsburys after college, so I get all my piggies veg from the staff reduction area!

I try and pop into some of the more ethnic type shops when I am out and about as they often have a better selection of fresh herbs and the celery has all the leaves on...and they do knock a bit off when I say it is for the pets :D

I find that markets are a false economy as you always seem to have pick your own or they have dodgier stuff behind the counter. After shopping at all the above ::) I have found that Lidls are the best for value but the 99p bags of parsley in Tesco's definately lasts the longest - after extensive research! Also Tesco's curly kale lasts longer than Waitrose's - strange but true!

I also have Garsons Farm at the back of me where you can pick your own during the summer months and I did! When i picked the cauliflower and brocolli I picked so much leaf it went off - they let me have the leaves for free as humans don't eat them! its very expensive in the shop though I tend to go in their just for peas......

We go to aldi or netto heh but for greens and stuff we go to morrisons

after debating whether to go morrisons or asda today i went morrisons and i picked up some good bargins! and i got a bunch of carrots with all the leaves (Like a metre long lol) and the girls are just eating them now, first time they have had the tops and they love them. that makes me so happy! :D

yea mine are same they will eat a little bit but I'm not allowed to chop them up much, or they shout lol

I go to the market and beg carrot tops off the stalls, and also caulilflower leaves. then i also get my veg off the market, support local growers :)

I went to Lidl the other day and got 35 corn on cobs for 19p each. 8 cauliflowers @ 39p each, 1kg bags of carrots @ 55p each. Then I went into Netto and they had celery reduced to 29p each so I got 6 of them.

Piggies are very happy this week.

mine love corn on cobs with the leaves but i cant find them in morrisons only asda and there 2 for £1, i will get them but not often

I have lidl, aldi, tesco, sainsburies and asda all near me, plus 3 different market stalls O0 so it really depends which one I am nearest when I need to do a veg shop ;D Like yesterday it was sainsburies, so I went there.

I get most of my veg from the market its cheaper than supermarkets and your supporting a local bussiness( stall holder) plus its fresher ;)
I do buy it from the supermarket when I have too and working in one aswell I get to buy many veggies at 10p brfore closing ;D

Blimey girl you're spoilt for choice there! I've got Tesco and Asda where I get most my shopping but am going to try Aldi this weekend. Never been there before so not sure what their veggies are like - hopefully they have a good range. Our Tesco is only an Express so very limited choice and the Asda is big but again not much variety.

i dont really go to lidl, not keen on it.

i usually shop at asda, although i work at sainsburys, and often pick up bargain fruit and veg reduced for the piggers

i tried somerfield today and i can say that o defo wont be going back there again. it was awful choice. :(
