Our dear little old age piggy Ludo Pudo is starting to look a bit shabby. He’s somewhere between 7 and 8 so I’m aware he’s definitely past his prime but the last few weeks his coat has lost its vibrancy, though he’s still his usual self and in general good health.

Just wondering if some readigrass/dried herbs/science selective might be a good idea? Or anything else that’s recommended?

Thanks in advance!

What a great age! The only thing I can think of is the oxbow supplements. They do one for urinary tracts and general health etc.

Hi and welcome back!

You can try readigrass for its richness, but may also try a course fibreplex to help optimise the guts. Oxbow does a range of supplements.

In the end, if it is his time and if his organs are stopping to work well enough, then there is unfortunately nothing you can do. I've currently got 11 piggies between 5 and nearly 9 years, so I fully understand! :(

Thanks both, I’ll look into oxbow and I’m sure two furry gluttons wouldn’t complain if readigrass happened to appear, it can’t hurt!

My hope last year was that he got to his gotcha day in October, for this year I’m hoping he can be around for when it’s grass time again as he loves being outdoors :luv:

Looked into oxbow, got very excited at the range of stuff, spent about £20.... of course he won’t touch the stuff :lol:

I make up pellets with added Fibreplex plus Vit C on alternate nights for my oldies. Other nights I make it up with added Critical Care as they seem to enjoy it!
