You are likely all aware that Coronavirus is having a large impact on small businesses. This includes our recommended rescues.

You may have seen notifications that fundraising events that have been planned for some time have had to be cancelled but rescues are also having to close their doors to new surrenders and adoptees in order to protect everyone from spreading the virus. On top of this a number of rescues rely on self employment, such as pet boarding, in order to provide further necessary funds to keep going.

As a direct result of the virus many of these rescues are facing very difficult times and we want to support them in anyway we can to try and prevent these much needed services from having to close down.

I have compiled as many ways and means to donate to our UK recommended rescues as possible to give options for people to support to any level that they can. Please see this thread for the links:

I have been doing online surveys etc and recently cashed out £25 to amazon vouchers. I was planning on saving these to cover Christmas as I won't have any income by then as my maternity pay will have ended. However I will spread this amongst a few of those with amazon wishlists as I have time to save up more vouchers for myself.
 
I got two notifications yesterday when Amazon delivered goodies and noticed one rescue posted on Facebook. It's nice to bring a little bit of joy while stuck at home. Payday soon so hope to support another one or two rescues
 
Another way to help, I mentioned also on the hay thread. The Hay Experts online shop, has a Rescues Wishlist page, so you can buy hay etc direct from them and have it sent to the rescue.
They also have a loyalty points system and I believe you can gift your points to a rescue; if lots of people did that a few points each that wouldn't buy much individually might add up to some bags of hay etc for a rescue.

Teas and the Potteries weren't on the wishlist page , I'll try and ask how you get on it on Monday.

I phoned today as I hadn't had a response to an email enquiry regarding the wishlist. The lady I spoke to said that rescues who would like to have a wishlist on their website just need to contact them by email or phone to request it. The Hay Experts will then check them out ( to prevent people pretending to be rescues :eek: ) and then it's pretty much like having an amazon wishlist which supporters can choose from.
She said the rescues who are on there already say it works well for them, and she has heard of TEAS :tu::tu: too.

She also mentioned that they had been given a supply (of Readigrass I think she said) which is to be donated to rescues to help them at this time. They will be putting together "care packs" and next week asking for suggestions on Facebook as to who should receive them.
