I have been buying this food for a while now and I buy the 10kg sacks which tend to last me the best part of 6 months. Basically this batch hasn't been great, I keep finding the odd red pellet from some other food but then I found this big tub in there around 2-3 inches long and it was solid so I decided to tweet them to let them know and find out what it was.

Basically its waste but the same produce as the pellets. They apologised and I said it's ok, not harmful to the pigs and its just a bit of a dodgy batch. Turns out the other red pellets I occasionally find are the gerbil food they make...

So they say please send your address, we'd like to send a replacement bag. So I do... thinking well... maybe they will send 2kg which will be nice and save a few pennies but ohhhh no! That's not enough... they have sent me a whole 10kg bag! Now I know these only retail for £20-25 online which probably insist a lot to a big company but wow! I certainly wasn't expecting such generosity... I had to collect from the depot and about died when they brought it out... thank god I went in my car :))

Now that will help keep you going with your massive amount of piggies  and very generous of the company to replace the whole bag :yahoo:

ooh nice :tu:
i must admit i wrote to Pedigree about a 20kg bag of dog food about 6-7yrs ago saying it was a different colour than normal & my dog wouldn't eat it like usual. i sent off a small sample for them & batch details etc. they replied shortly afterwards saying the sample wasn't really big enough to test but included with £35 worth of £5 vouchers! well impressed!

i use the purple supreme science selective too, i was looking on Pets at home website with their offers etc on, then i looked at Wilkinsons for something else & just thought i would see if they sold it.. sure enough they do...but only in 1.5kg bags (£2.33per Kg)
this was compared to pets at home 3kg web exclusive at £2.67 per kg or 4kg bag at £2.63 per kg.

i'm guessing it'll keep fresher for longer in smaller bags & save me money at the same time
might be a bit fiddley for your whopping 10kg bag, but if it saves you some more money when the time comes its just a thought

well done on your consumer bonus :D
