Hi. Has anyone used this and found that it worked or helped? It says it's only for rabbits but can it be used for guinea pigs? I saw it and thought that it might help my Chico pig with his urinary problems. Can pigs have it? x image.webp

never tried them , but i dont see why not . thuogh personaly l think one of those that specife guinea pigs on there lable would be better

One website says it's safe for guinea pigs but several only state rabbits. Therefore, I thought it would be better to ask first. I know they probably could have it as rabbits and guinea pigs are similar in ways but I wanted to check first x

What about this stuff? Can pigs have this. A few people know/ have read the thread I posted about Chicos urinary issues and weight loss so would this help? x again it's stating for rabbits even though I've heard of people using this for their pigs x

They do one for guinea pigs - I use it for my Boar who had a kidney stone - it was recommended by my vet - It's called VETCARE plus Multi- Modal-Formula same packaging but with a pigture of a piggy on and the box is white and purple - it works really well - I but mine online from vet uk - you can't get it at places like pets at home or jolleys.

I know, I was going to buy that one but that one was especially made for urinary problems. I just wondered if I could have fed that instead but if not I'm gonna buy the vet care multi one from either viovet or vetuk x

It is for bladder piggies as it's very low calcium - my vet feeds it to her piggies - it also has dandelion and nettle extract and cranberry extract to help with the bladder - its great - looks weird though - like long skinny bits of dark shredded wheat - i snap all mine in half as they are very long.

So I can use it for the pigs? x

Not the one in your picture - that is only for rabbits as they have different nutritional needs to guineas - you need to get the one with the picture of the guinea pig on it called VETCARE Multi - Modal - the fibreplex is for small herbivores and my vet has prescribed it for my piggy when she had very soft poos - I personally wouldn't use it without checking with my vet first as it might block her up if she doesn't really need it - it is high protein and tastes of carrot apparently.
