She's hurt her back leg, taking her to the vets shortly. She's holding it up and yelping when she walks.... i'm at my wits end 8...

HUGS

I am very sorry; the yelping doesn't sound good! Fingers firmly crossed for you and and your poorly girl!

Oh my dear! I'm sorry you're having such a rough time of it. :( But perverse though it sounds, hopefully it's all coming at you at once and you'll come out the other side with no problems at all for absolutely ages. One can hope.......

Claws crossed for you here, let us know how she goes.

I don't know what she's done or how she's done it, I don't think she's broke anything as she's allowed me to have a look and the problem seems higher up (hip area) she can hold her foot up and put weight on it, just not walk on it (hops)..
I don't know at this point whether I want to put her through any more of this, she's got enough on her plate without her injuring her leg. I can only hope they can help. Just when we were starting to get back on track :(

Stop the world I want to get off!

She's possibly sprained her leg. She doesn't find it too hard to scratch herself with that foot and made a good effort walking across the cage when I put her back in after visit.
She also let the vet manipulate her legs without one whimper.. She crawled back into her travel box unaided when she refused to let the vet see her walk, and thought "Escaping!"..
One bit of good news is that she's gaining weight.. lets just hope the thought of walking to the food bowl and getting a drink doesn't cause her to loose weight again..

:( Poor little girl. Hoping things turn round for her and you soon. Lots of healing vibes to her and hugs

*hugs* what an awful time you're having at the moment, hope your wee girl is feeling better soon x

She's being so sweet tonight, licking my face whilst sitting on my chest as I lie on top of the bed typing and being really chatty (content sounds, no whimpers). If she wasn't doing this, i'd be worried as at least I'm getting an idea of how she's feeling.
I've stripped her cage of the log house (strip of branches wired together and can bend into bridge shape and also tempted to take the cages house out too as that's where she may have originally injured herself, so removing possible causes.
Levelling out the bedding to remove trip hazards. If I hadn't seen her using the leg and foot tonight i'd have been really worried, but she can scratch her face with the toes on her bad leg and put weight/walk on it, albeit a tad uncomfortable, I would have asked them to arrange another x-ray.
Padded cell comes to mind................

Oh she really is going through it at the moment. She sounds so healthy and strong despite it all.

I do think we're winning the battle with regards to her eating and her eye, vet was really impressed with the improvements there :)

It's been approx. 4 days since I stopped the volterol, I didn't even have to bathe her eye this morning! :))

You can imagine when I got home this afternoon, that when I saw her limping and holding the foot up, my world just dropped right through the floor and I just thought "Oh God! Where do we go now?"..
I put everything away, the towel I've been using, the measuring jug, syringes, meds etc. anything that would set me off if I came home without her..

Aww that must have been so worrying for you. :( I hope you did not have to deal with it alone.

My Oh was met with a blubbering wreck :red Couldn't stop crying.. I've never known any pet to have such an impact on me :(

I would have been the same. Please do not feel shy about crying for your little baby. It just shows how much you love her.

Crikey i've just seen this thread......... little L what are you doing to yourself sweetie ?

Oh love............ HUGE HUGS FOR YOU XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

COME ON LIQUORICE WHEE NEED YOU TO BE HEALTHY AGAIN XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

She was stuffing her face when I got in from work and is being careful when she walks, I think there's a small improvement, but I also think I have a few more grey hairs.....

She's walking on her bad leg now, just given me a run around of the living room, no limping, no yelping.. 24 hours and she's a different piggy ^)

I really can't believe the transformation, it's like somethings clicked and she's returning to the piggy I know from before the whole saga began 4 months ago too! Liquorice is just so - normal!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEK WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK

WAY TO GO LIQUORICE!!!

Crikey she's put you thru the wringer sooooo many times in the past few months! :{:...
Love whee'll all have paws and fingers crossed that little Liquorice will be back to her happy pigself again real real soon x)x)x)

She's very demanding when she's out now.. I put her on the bed, and her fleece near my pillow, she walks over and waits patiently for her leaf of lettuce :))
Very alert, very chatty, and extremely mobile! :)
She went to see Biscuit the Boar yesterday when I had my back turned and wound him into a frenzy (she walks behind his cage and says hello :))

I have a before/after picture update coming up (eye and legging it around the living room)... needless to say, it's a really good photo ;)
