Junior Guinea Pig
Back in October 2017 I flew to the Guinea Pig Fall Festival in Los Angeles to help and see the NorCal 700 piggies (sows rescued from a hoard, majority of them were pregnant). In one of the converted horse stalls turned into a piggie stall I spotted one sow who looked like my first rescue guinea pig who passed away 2 years ago.
The next day I flew back home (Colorado) and told my fellow rescue friend that I wanted to adopt her so she went to the rescue to look for her among the 700 sows. She didn't spot her and she asked another person, turns out my other friend decided to foster her. She picked her up to foster while she delivers. I waited for nearly 3 + months. After her babies were weened she became adoptable. My friend also fostered another piggie to pair her up with a teddy (I've always wanted for years and she remembered that, and she was the only teddy among the 700).
I flew to Los Angeles on Saturday morning, did some volunteering at the rescue for a couple of hours and flew back the same day. It was great seeing a lot of my friends at the rescue.
Now I have 2 new sows, one is barely a year old who gave birth to 3 pups and the other is only 4 months old.
I don't have any pictures of them at the moment, giving them some time to adjust. I plan to do introductions today.
