Was so hard to keep this secreat..but we have a new addition! We have been calling him "patch" or "pip" havent decided for sure yet. I say patch because he is all white except an patch on his eye. and hubs says pip because his original name from his ex owners was charlie...and my husband has an uncle named that, but everyone calls him pip. so....

we're trying out both to see what really fits him.

I know all want to see a picture...so I will add that after the story of how we ended up with him.

The story:
We were in the local pet shop we get gus's hay from (he's picky ) and of course we have to visit the piggys. We see one that is really cute, but was a girl and so we dont want to have to neuter or spay..so we left....i have been hunting a larger cage for smores n choco and wanted to switch gus over to thier old cage. So we scanned the cages. (here in tx they dont make them as big as they should be so we have to make due for now)....but we have an idea that maybe they have a larger one at another store...so we go over there. We get in there and are looking at the piggys (we cant resist piggy holding...lol)..and there is a really cute chocolate one.hubs says....well we could try him with gus..you never know, but it'll have to wait till paycheck. the guy helping us says...you just want one to give your other ones company. and we say...well gus is a bit strange he dosent seem to like other piggys living with him. the guy says...well if you could try one for free and not have to buy anything would you want to do that. I said..um...sure why. He said..we had a owner surrender this morning and you can have that piggy and everthing they bought in with it. I said..is it a male..he says..not sure...so he goes and fetches the cage (deplorable cage dont get me started on that)....and the paper says "charlie" female. on its cage. Something in me said...LOOK AT THE PATICULARS AND MAKE SURE. so ...i ask to check it over. I immediatly check the parts. CHARLIE is a HIM! he is very frightened, covered in flea dirt (read flea poop)..and is shaking all over . I quickly stuffed him in my shirt...sweet talked him and stroaked his nose. He settled ...and so I'm looking over his paper work and his ex owner had MY first name. my name is NOT common. so..it was fate. he was coming home with us. So we take him home. He's passed the quarenteen, he's be deflea'd and bathed, (waiting on nail clipping till next week)...he's passed the once over from the vet, he's got on with gus and the others in the play pen...he passed the be by gus's cage and get to know one another ....and has SUCCESSFULLY spent 48 hours IN gus's cage...and SURPRISE gus has given his approval ! i cannot belive the "luck/fate" whatever you want to call it. he is home. we didnt have to pay a red cent for him and wonder of wonders gus likes him.

whoo hoooooooooo!
was guessed he is between 4-8 mo....But not for sure. He is still a tad skittish and I dont think he was handled very much if at all. he is enjoying his new mate, ....and soon as I'm able to I'm going cage shopping to get everyone a bigger home. but for now they've got enough room to be by themselves. we have two of everythign per cage...with enough room to romp in there and popcorn. and it sure beats the circumstances where they were to begin with. Noone can convince me he wasnt to be ours.

so we now have two bonded pairs of boars (still keeping an eye on the new pair..but so far gus is dominant and pip/patch doesnt seem to argue that . so I'm gingerly saying he is submissive one). the only arguement they've had is WHERE to put the pigloo...gus puts it where HE wants it..and then patch/pip moves it to where HE wants it..its guite cute.

ok ok..enough of the blather...here is his picture.

Me too , they've chased, sniffed bums, mounted one another, shared food, played ring around the pig loo , groomed each other, played this celery is miiiinnneee, no its minnn neeeee game , and I must say pip/patch has got a very loud very shrill wheek....hurts my ears lol. We've only had one minor show of irritance...Gus clicked his teeth lightly at pip/patch and he seemed to understand to go to his respective corner. Gus seems more tolerant of him than just loving him to bits but it's new so we"ll see

aww that's such a lovely story, I hope him and gus live happily ever after! xoxo

Showed the hubby some cnc cages and he said" we could do that"....so provided we find some here in tx , we may be doing a double or triple decker piggy palace. I do have one question...what do you put on bottom to keep from ruining carpet? I was thinking a tarp might work then proceed as normal lining it as I would thier cage they are in now

You can use a shower curtain not to ruin your carpet. How lovely you have adopted this poor little piggy.
