At the moment it seems that I am rarely away from the vets. All 4 of my piggies have seen more of the vet since the start of the year than they did in the whole of the last year put together. Even the receptionists joke about the fact I am rarely away from the place.
And just when I had managed to get Poppy discharged last week, Mollie discharged this week and foster pig Holly seen and discharged this week, I have found a lump along Poppy's suture line. I'm not sure if it's an abscess or a hernia. It wasn't there yesterday but I felt it immediately on picking her up today for her daily checks. So we are back at the vets again tomorrow. She's eating, drinking, weeing and pooping just fine and was popcorning as I cleaned her cage tonight so I know she's not feeling unwell at the moment. I'm just hoping it stays that way.

All the best! A least you have noticed it promptly, so she will get any care she needs promptly. Sorry about the complication. :(

Same here - I am currently on a rent a chair in the waiting room scheme - and I still have got own iola's ovarian cyst spay ahead of me, hoping that her ovarian cysts are not outrunning my by now rather depleted vet fund before the next salary comes in! :(

Poppy saw Sara today. The lump is slightly to the side of the suture line making it less likely to be a hernia and more likely to be an abscess. We've got ABs over the weekend and she will go back in again next week for an op either to debride the abscess or repair hernia (if it does turn out to be a hernia). I'm gutted to be honest. I knew there was always a risk after such major surgery but she has done so well, literally bouncing back to what seemed like full health. At least she is still eating and drinking and popcorning around the cage like a loon. And she has her youth on her side.

Such bad luck, hope it clears up soon. At least she isn't poorly x
