Hello All,

Firstly I hope this doesn't come across as callous, but I wanted to see if anyone has two boars that they are keeping seperate due to fighting.
I have four boars two who have been perfectly bonded since we got them and two who won't bond, they live side by side. But I am convinced as they don't have a proper cage mates they are not as happy as my bonded pair.
So what I'm thinking, is this. Would anyone be willing to take my bonded pair and I take their two single pair. With a view of bonding them with my single boars.
I really don't want to get another 2 on top of my existing four. And this seems like the fairest thing to do.
All my gp's are around the one year mark. Obviously I don't want to do this and I adore all my pigs but I think moving my bonded pair onto another forum member who has two singles is the best option all round.
Hopefully this doesn't break any rules, and I have put alot of thought into this. So please don't think I'm just wanting to get rid and make life easy for myself. I just want all my pigs to be happy,
Thanks

Have you got a rescue local to you? They might be able to help with finding suitable single pigs but also most rescues help with boar bonding. It would be an awful shame to take on two single piggies and find they don’t bond with your boys also.
Rescue are also good for discussing options.
It’s nice that you are looking at options for your piggies happiness.
Good luck 🙂

I have looked and couldn't find one. Don't get me wrong I would love to just keep getting pigs to bond with my single boys and keep my bonded pair but I don't think I could look after more than four. It wouldn't be fair as I always feel guilty they don't get enough attention anyway

If you were considering rehoming your two bonded pigs, would it be an option to rehome the two separate pigs? You could give them to a rescue who could bond them with other piggies and rehome them?

In all honesty, even if there were someone on the forum with 2 single boars, I don't think a swap would work. Your 2 have fallen out probably because they both are dominant, and that would probably be the same reason that anyone else would have 2 single boars, so theirs probably wouldn't get on with your 2 either.

I agree. It makes more sense to rehome the two single boars as rescues tend to find it easier to rehome single boars as companions to bereaved boars or they may neuter them. Maybe rehome one of the single boars and find a companion through a rescue for the other?
