Hennie
Junior Guinea Pig
This morning our darling Pip fell into his forever sleep, we are so upset that our special boy has gone.
He had deteriorated on Thursday and I took him to the vets yesterday, where the vet gave us antibiotics and metacam for bladder infection, so hopefully he would pick up and we could decide whether to investigate for bladder stones. But despite his medication, critical care and lots of love and cuddles he deteriorated further over night. I booked him in to see the same vet this afternoon but whilst I was at work this morning Pip fell to sleep one last time whilst my husband was stroking him.
We've only had Pip just under a year, he was from my mum-in-law and she could no longer look after him due to her own and my father-in-laws ill health. The aim was to have him neutered and try him with his sisters or get him a lady of his own! Unfortunately time wasn't on his side. He has had bladder problems since November and we thought we were going to loose him before Christmas but he fought through it and we only said last week how well he was.
We're going miss our Mr Pip, doing his machine gun Kelly impression on the bars, and the time he went on fleece for first time with a tassel hidey - we thought he would popcorn out of the cage! He seemed to enjoy listening to radio four and Leicester City football commentary with me. And defiantly enjoyed destroying rush balls. The most fun he had was eating and lying in hay in a paper Primark bag - classy pig!
We're going to miss you Pip - our monkey man
. Popcorn free Pip and rest in peace, love from your hooman Mummy & Daddy, Grandma & Grandad, and your sisters Freda & Squeak xxxxxxxx
