Wilbur and Oscar were my first and last guinea pigs for now. So grateful to have taken care of them and just sad it wasn't long enough. Wilbur didn't fare well after Ozzys passing and losing them has been traumatic, but I'm happy they're together again. Also grateful to Zuko who I had to surrender after only 7 days with us, he made sure Wilbur wasn't alone in his last weeks. I feel so guilty all of the time for both choosing euthanasia for Wil and giving Zuko up, but Wilbur wasn't getting better and I'm so tired, as well as being financially drained. Over 2000 in 3 months, I don't know how I even managed to afford it. He'll find his forever home.

Sleep tight you two, I hope I see you again someday.

BIG HUGS

I m so very sorry. Please think of your gorgeous and clearly treasured boys as happily reunited at the Rainbow Bridge.

You are not a bad owner at all - rather the opposite actually. Strong feelings of failure and guilt are typical for the onset of the grieving process because we humans are wired to reflect everything that happens back onto ourselves. They are in fact a sign of how deeply you care - we all wouldn't have those feelings if didn't love our piggies as much as we do.

Anyway, you have in fact done your very best for your boys. Perhaps you want to put a little donation towards a rescue resident in their memory if you feel so strongly about Wilbur, Oscar and Zuko? I have done this a few times for piggies of mine to help save another piggy life and give them their own chance at happiness.

Please be kind with yourself. When it comes to the end of an era, all the previous deaths are coming back up as well. It is OK to not be OK for a little while but if you feel trapped or stuck and struggle to function, please contact the free Blue Cross pet bereavement services (UK animal charity). Talking is the best you can do for yourself.

Popcorn high Wilbur and Oscar 🌈

I’m so sorry. Oscar and Wilbur are together forever again and little Zuko will find another friend soon. You’ve been a wonderful piggy slave. You have nothing to feel guilty for. Sending you a hug. 🤗

Sorry for your loss. You did everything you could for your boys and made the very unselfish and courageous decision to put Zuko’s needs above your own. Oscar and Wilbur are now reunited over the rainbow bridge 🌈
