Sweet little Oreo, my black and white Teddy girl passed away unexpectedly just over a week ago. My apologies to you sweet girl, for not feeling up to creating a tribute until now. I know I have had the opportunities to do so earlier, but I have not felt ready to properly say goodbye. You'll be pleased to know that your sweetheart Freddie is doing well. He certainly was upset at your passing and was very restless and squeaky without your company, and I have been missing your cuddles.
Oreo you never liked being picked up, but you loved being fed on my lap and would nudge me for more food. I know piggies like their food, but you, Oreo, seemed to have an extra special relationship with food.
I still have your FibaFirst Hay Sticks in the cupboard. You were the only one who liked them and I used to buy them specially for you to treat you.
Oreo you were the most gentle piggy I have ever met. No word of a lie, you were so gentle.
I am so sorry you passed away in your prime, and I will never quite know why/how this came to be.
Oreo, you came to me from another loving home, to be reunited with Freddie. Long story short, Freddie came to me to live with another sow who was frightened of my sow-herd and just couldn't happily be with them. She loved Freddie. This sow, Snowball, was an elderly piggy and she died after a chest infection in her twilight years. So the lovely lady who you were living with sent you to me to be reunited with Freddie, after living with him before. It was a good reunion and you both settled in well. Things have been totally harmonious since and plain-sailing for you. You were sympathetic and extra loving towards Freddie after his operation to remove a cyst which was growing on top of a tumour (also removed). I am sure he appreciated your comforting gentle nuzzling when he was feeling tender and vulnerable afterwards.
I don't know much of your very early life. In your first home you had a litter, then you went to live with a loving lady and her family, and were placed with Freddie after he was neutered, and then another neutered boar after Freddie came to me. I do know that after changing herd dynamics and a struggle for this lady to house everyone harmoniously she took the decision to rehome Freddie, and eventually you came up here to join him. You have had upheavals but you were very much loved by both myself and your last human family. Oreo: know that you were loved. Know that being sent to me was not because you were no longer wanted by your last family, it was the challenge to house everyone after herd fall-outs - a forced downsizing, and she knew that you and Freddie had got on so well before, it was a logical choice for you to live with a piggy that you really liked. She told me that she cried when I mailed her to tell of your passing, and I will always miss you.
We love you Oreo. Be free and happy at the Bridge. Find all the lovely munchies, and be with Snowball, Cloud, Shadow and Sunrise.

These are the last set of photos I took of you - they are not very good ones. I remember you and Freddie were having a tender moment and I decided to try to capture it. I ruined it as you of course noticed and came up to see if I had any treats. (it's hard to see you on the left there) x

I think at that point you decided you didn't want to have your photo taken and ambled off downstairs.... and regrettably I didn't end up getting any more of you. This was two months ago.
